Adult Day Services
At Forest Hills Adult Day Center, we specialize in Alzheimer’s disease, dementia and neurodegenerative disease care. We have an attending neurologist on staff, as well as an on-site therapy department. Our adult day services program allows you opportunity to work, run errands or just take a day for yourself.
Though our community is comfortable and residents can move about as they please, our grounds are completely secure, so you’ll have peace of mind that your loved ones are safe. Through activities, exercise programs, arts & crafts, group outings and music, we make sure our participants get the most out of their stay with us. Also, meals are all provided while in our care.
It’s all affordable, too. We are participants in the Passport, Senior Options, Care Giver Grants, Ohio Health Plan, Medicaid and private pay among others. Dr. Douglas Scharre
Douglas Scharre, M.D., is a board-certified neurologist who has been the medical director at Forest Hills for many years.
Dr. Scharre has a long history of working with dementia patients prior to coming to Forest Hills. Dr. Scharre joined the Department of Neurology at The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center in 1993 and has completed research in the areas of dementia and mild cognitive impairment. He is particularly interested in dementia-related behaviors and degenerative dementias. Over the years, he has been published in several books and journals, where he has shared his research on a number of neurological disorders such as dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and many others.
Before moving to Ohio, Dr. Scharre received his medical degree from Georgetown University and later complete his neurology residency at Letterman Army Medical Center in 1987. Four years later Dr. Scharre completed a two-year fellowship at UCLA in the area of Neurobehavior.
